Contouring vs highlighting: These are two makeup techniques to instantly change your look. These techniques are a way to enhance your naturally beautiful features, chisel out dimension in the face, and enhance your natural glow. - What is contouring?– Contouring entails adding definition and shadows to specific features in the face using contour in a slightly darker matte shade under your cheekbones, along the jawline, and sides of your nose. This is meant to make the features look slightly slimmer or sharper.

- Step 1: Prep Your Face– The easiest place to start is with a clean, moisturized face. Then apply your foundation to give the contour and highlight something to adhere to.
- Step 2: Apply your contour– Using your matte contour product, apply the desired amount under your cheekbones, along your jawline, or on the sides of your nose; blend these shadows in well so that they look natural.

- Use a contour shade that is 1–2 tones darker than your skin and use a highlighter that is flattering to your skin tone.
